In September, 1994, William Sinunu was scheduled to board a plane that crashed into the Pennsylvania countryside. But by a strange twist of fate, he changed his plans and caught an earlier flight at the last minute. This near brush with death was a wake-up call for Sinunu to reexamine his life. At the time, he was living in a perpetual state of exhaustion-- juggling a time consuming job, full-time graduate school, and a social work residency. He was building his way towards the American dream, but it felt more like the American dread- was this what living was really about? From that moment on, William Sinunu decided to seek out the many ways we can all use to make life a little bit happier, a little more balanced, and a whole lot sweeter.
As a child, Sinunu was raised in a number of countries, encouraging him to acquire an open attitude toward different cultures. That knowledge permeates his delightful book LIFE COULD BE SWEETER: 101 Great Ideas from Around the World for Living a More Rewarding Life. Additionally, Sinunu added to his multi-cultural experiences by circling the globe as a flight attendant for over 20 years, visiting over 100 countries on 6 continents. Given the wild popularity of books like French Women Don’t Get Fat, Americans are looking beyond our borders for a fresh perspective on how to live life. How can we, as overworked Americans, learn from our international counterparts how to live a more fulfilling life? William Sinunu’s book expands our global vision; these 101 cosmopolitan vignettes take you on an entertaining, fun, and insightful worldwide tour.
Among the 101 approaches you’ll learn in LIFE COULD BE SWEETER are:
-How the French spice up their sex lives with fantasy, how the Turks relax after a stressful day and how the Fijians honor the elderly. -A Finnish approach to raising responsible children, the Italian secret to finding the perfect mate and the Greek approach to holidays.
LIFE COULD BE SWEETER, unlike any other self-help book on the market, offers options on how to embrace a worldwide view on our deepest emotional and social issues—like relationships, parenting, sex, work and leisure.
