When nineteen-year-old John Boulis is recruited to assist in a daring late evening burglary, he never would have guessed the night would end with the tragic murder of police sergeant William X. Hannigan.
On the ill-fated night that would forever tarnish his family name, young John sneaks out of his home and heads down to the black 1941 Plymouth sedan waiting for him outside. While on their way, the man driving the car gives John a revolver. After introductions are made between the four men involved, they go over the details—where they are heading, what they are going to steal, how they are going to gain entry, and the details on exiting the building.
