The Many Culture, One World series takes readers on a journey to different countries of the world. The inviting text and colorful images help young readers learn about the interesting legends, crafts and typical games, foods and pets of each country, including Canada, China, England, Ireland, Japan, Mexico and Pakistan. In the "Greece" book, for instance, readers will learn about the ancient Greek legend of Helios driving his chariot across the sky each morning to raise the sun; how to play the ball game called "Flees"; how to make Tzatziki yogurt dip; and how to decorate Greek Easter eggs. Each book includes a map, craft, recipe and game for hands-on learning at home and in the classroom. This series supports the standards under the "History of People of Many Cultures Around the World" as required by the National Center for History in the Schools, and "Culture," "People, Places and Environment," and "Global Connections" as required by the National Council for the Social Studies. |
